DMLA Newsbreak 10.4.23
In Memoriam - Bob Roberts
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of a cherished member and esteemed leader, H. Armstrong Roberts, Bob to many of our members. Bob was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia and died suddenly, Saturday, September 23, 2023, with his beloved wife at his side.
Bob was a pioneer in the stock photography industry. His grandfather founded H. Armstrong Roberts, Inc. in 1920. Bob worked for his father at the agency all his life, taking over as owner/operator in 1979 and overseeing its transition to Robertstock/Classicstock, which continues to license its library of over 500,000 images.
Bob served as President and Executive Board Member of the Picture Agency Council of America (PACA), now the Digital Media Licensing Association (DMLA) in the 1980s & 90s. He received a Lifetime Achievement award from the DMLA in 2016.

Everypixel — Finding a good stock image can be challenging. The stock content market offers hundreds of millions of images, and every year it increases. Hundreds of agencies keep providing countless images. Consequently, there is a big market with lots of players and an avalanche of content, but it doesn’t have a proper search tool. As a result, a customer can waste a lot of time searching for a suitable image, but never finds it. Everypixel can solve these problems by aggregating licensed content from different stock websites to reduce time and effort that you spend to search for the right image.
Pixelz - Pixelz was founded in 2011 in Holstebro, Denmark. Back then Pixelz was known as 'Remove the Background', based on a simple premise to make it easy for e-commerce companies to create beautiful product images. Over the years, the company has innovated in response to industry challenges, and developed the concept of SAW – Specialist Assisted Workflow. An idea of splitting the retouching workflow up into many different steps assisted by AI technology. Today, they are a technology company powered by a talented and passionate team.
