Importance of Net Neutrality

Net neutrality means that internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, without favoring or blocking particular products or websites.  Seems simple, right?  Why has it become such a major political issue?The Senate voted today to pass a measure that would repeal changes to net neutrality rules that were recently adopted by the Republican-controlled Federal Communications Commission.
