Help DMLA advocate for your licensing rights

Advocacy is one of the core benefits of DMLA membership. Our organization works on the front lines of key initiatives, such as the CASE Act. We need your help now to continue this vital work.

We have an immediate need for contributions to support the writing and delivery of a brief in support of licensing rights in the Warhol v Goldsmith case before the US Supreme Court. DMLA needs to raise more than $10,000 to cover writing, printing and filing.

We thank Getty Images, ImageRights and PicRights for agreeing to contribute to this effort, but we need more. We need your help, too. Please consider contributing whatever amount you can.

The DMLA Board of Directors recently agreed to build a small legal support reserve for these efforts to enable us to act quickly. Any excess funds we raise now will be held in this fund for ongoing advocacy efforts in support of our members.

To contribute or for more information, please email elaine@digitalmedialicensing.org.

Lots of opportunity ahead: DMLA Coming Events!

In a recent survey, members told us they are eager to meet in person again. Well, when you ask — we act!

Our first in-person event will be a Members and Partners Meet Up in Austin, Texas, and it will be all about networking.  Save the dates, March 19 - 22, 2023.

Plan to reserve a table and meet fellow licensors, new content partners, technology and other suppliers. We are targeting those days in March to immediately follow the ever-popular South by Southwest festival.

DMLA has applied to present a panel at SXSW to discuss the convergence of content, copyright, and technology in the 21st century. If we are accepted, we hope you will consider joining us there in advance of the networking event. We will confirm details soon and keep you informed.

In addition, please mark your calendars for August 10-26 to vote to include DMLA’s panel for SXSW featuring Nancy Wolff and Leslie Hughes. Ask everyone in your company vote! We are excited about expanding our reach.

And finally:

Save these Dates!

The 2023 Digital Media Licensing Conference will be held the week of October 22, 2023, in San Francisco, California.
