“Innovation in America: The Role of Copyrights”
Working together with all the other photo associations, it gives me a sense of pride when one of us is called upon to speak for our industry. Eugene Mopsik, ASMP Executive Director, testified Thursday, July 25, before the US House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet, at a hearing on “Innovation in America: the Role of Copyrights.”“The advent of the digital era has made it fast, easy and simple for images to be stolen or otherwise infringed. Without copyright protection, all possible recourse by the photographer would be eliminated, and we would be creating a culture in which digital theft is considered acceptable," Mopsik said during his testimony.Go here to see the entire testimony: http://asmp.org/pdfs/20130725_testimony/ by Cathy Aron, PACA Executive Director
